• More driving and she ventured onto a four-lane street for a few blocks, knowing she'd been seen two or three times. She turned left onto a side street and had gone about half a block when the traffic stopped. She leaned her head out the window and could see that they were doing some work in the next intersection, a guy in one of those fluorescent vests directing traffic through the confusion. She moved forward sporadically, one car length at a time.
• She took advantage of the stoppage by snapping photos of herself, doing her best to include her surroundings.
• When she was the second car in the line, Chris realized that the traffic director had moved and would be directly beside her car when she stopped ... and it was time to move forward.
